Commencement website highlights fall graduates

Texas Woman’s University is celebrating its December graduates with a special website highlighting some members of the Class of 2021.

SLIS Director conducts visiting lectureship in Taiwan

Ling Hwey Jeng, School of Library and Information Studies Director, conducted a visiting lectureship on community informatics at National Chengchi University in Taiwan. During the lectureship Jeng presented four lectures to master’s and doctoral students and gave speeches at the National Central Library and the National Chengchi University Library.

In the News: Carolyn Becker

Carolyn Becker (Education Abroad) was quoted in an Oct. 7 International Education magazine article, “Overcoming Burnout to Spark Innovation.” Becker was interviewed as an elected co-chair of Texas International Monthly, a statewide professional network for international educators.

Two TWU students awarded Gilman scholarships

Texas Woman’s University students Ashley Elliot and Demetria Ober look forward to expanding their worldview thanks to their recently awarded U.S. Department of State Benjamin A. Gilman ScholarshipsThe scholarships will allow Elliot, an English major, to study abroad at Harlaxton College in England for the Spring 2022 semester and Ober, a social work major, to study abroad at Universidad de Granada in Spain for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

Texas Woman’s graduate student receives second International Peace Scholarship

Elizabeth Timothy, a master’s student in the Texas Woman’s University Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies Program, has been awarded the Philanthropic Educational Organization’s prestigious International Peace Scholarship for the second year in a row. Timothy’s award will allow her to continue pursuing her studies at TWU and develop two projects that support underserved women in Kenya.
