Assets & Surplus
Surplus
When a department can no longer use or no longer has the space for equipment and/or furniture, it becomes university surplus, and TWU's FMC department will maintain the better items for reuse on campus. However, because storage space is limited, much of TWU surplus will be donated*, sold at auction, recycled/, or disposed of as waste.
*Only 501c3 (non-profit/charitable organizations) are eligible to receive TWU property as donations.
Removal of surplus can be requested using a Move Request in WebTMA.
Auctions
TWU uses an online service, called LSOAuctions.
TWU will regularly sell surplus items via an online auction with Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc. The sale can be found at LSOauctions. (TWU’s landing page) When Auctions are live, prices and payment information will be listed on their website. We will continue to publish upcoming sales online and through InsideTWU.
Previewing Items
PRIOR to and during Live Auctions, items may be previewed BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, Monday - Friday. All items are in UNKNOWN WORKING CONDITION unless otherwise stated and are sold AS IS, WHERE IS with NO WARRANTIES implied or expressed.
Item Removal
Item Removal is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, Monday - Friday within 4 business days after auction close.
Schedule a Removal Appointment
Please email surplus@twu.edu to schedule a removal appointment.
Picking up Items
Please present a copy of your paid receipt and a valid Government issued picture ID when picking up all items. Written authorization must be provided to the seller allowing a person other than the buyer named on the paid receipt to pick up items.
Failure to Remove Property
Removal is the winning bidder's responsibility. Failure to remove property within 4 days of the end of the auction period will result in account deactivation for both live and online auctions. If items purchased are not removed by the last removal date, the buyer forfeits all monies paid and the property reverts to Texas Woman's University with no recourse. There will be NO ASSISTANCE or SHIPPING / PACKING SERVICES available from Texas Woman's University or Lone Star employees for the removal and transportation of items won.
