How to apply for gift aid at TWU
Gift aid is financial help for students that does not need to be repaid. Use our Financial Aid Checklist to guide you through applying for financial aid and scholarships.
Timeline for financial aid processes at TWU
- October 1 – FAFSA and TASFA become available.
- January 15 – FAFSA and TASFA priority deadline.
- March 15 – Estimated time to receive financial aid award notifications for upcoming Fall/Spring.
- August 1 – Recommended date to notify TWU Financial Aid and Scholarships of any gift aid received from sources outside of TWU like private scholarships

Understand your Cost of Attendance.
If you believe your Cost of Attendance used in determining your financial aid is insufficient, you may request a review of your Cost of Attendance (and aid eligibility) with a Budget Review Request.
If there as been a major change in you or your family’s situation since filing the FAFSA or TASFA or you have special circumstances that were not taken into consideration on the FAFSA, you can submit a Special Circumstances Form.
