About the Institute
The Institute for Women’s Health (IWH), formerly known as the Center for Research on Women’s Health, was established on the TWU-Denton campus in 1993. In 2003, the IWH joined the College of Health Sciences. The IWH serves as a research and education resource for TWU’s health professions programs on the Denton campus. The IWH has also forged partnerships that link a variety of academic institutions, community-based organizations, and government agencies united by the common goal of advancing the health and wellbeing of women and girls in Texas.
Mission
The Institute for Women's Health engages in innovative multi-disciplinary research focusing primarily on the health and well-being of women that fosters scholarship, diversity, partnerships and leadership development.
Vision
The Institute for Women's Health focuses on innovative, sustainable multi-disciplinary research that champions the scholarship, leadership and mentorship in the health sciences for the primary purpose of improving the health and well-being of women.
