Online MLS named best in Texas
Feb. 6, 2026 — DENTON — The online Master of Library Science (MLS) at Texas Woman’s University has been named the top online MLS program in Texas.
The ranking was bestowed by mastersinlibraryscience.org, specifically recognizing TWU’s American Library Association (ALA) accreditation and program flexibility. The website also lauded Texas Woman’s for preparing graduates for diverse roles in libraries, archives and information management.
Programs are ranked on factors like curriculum quality, faculty expertise and student support. More on the site’s ranking methodology can be found here.
As part of the MLS program in the School of Library & Information Studies in the TWU College of Professional Education, students can specialize with certificates in school librarianship, community information or earn a dual degree with a Master of Science in Health Studies.
Also available are post-master’s certificates in school librarianship, evidence-based health science librarianship, and community information.
