Certification Requirements
To obtain the Reading Specialist certification candidates must complete the following requirements:
- Conferred master's degree (or higher)
- Completed all courses on the certification plan
- Completed TExES exam
- Valid classroom teaching certificate
- Have a minimum of two completed years of classroom teaching experience in a public, charter or accredited private school (NOTE: may be completed before, during or after coursework)
