Clinical Experiences

Our Educator Preparation Program is committed to preparing teacher candidates for entry and sustainability in educational settings. We are committed to embedding high quality research-based practices into all clinical placement settings.

Our office works closely with area schools to arrange high-quality field experience placements as well as clinical teaching placements.

The Spring 2026 Clinical Teaching Application will be available in September 2025.

Testing Requirements for Clinical Teachers and Interns

Fall 2025: Prospective Fall 2025 clinical student teachers and interns must receive passing scores on all required practice and state TExES exams by July 1, 2025 to begin clinical teaching or internship in the Fall 2025 semester.

Spring 2026: Prospective Spring 2026 clinical student teachers and interns must receive passing scores on all required practice and state TExES exams by December 1, 2025 to begin clinical teaching or internship in the Spring 2026 semester.

Testing Requirements for Pioneer Teacher Residents

TWU candidates participating in the Pioneer Teacher Residency Program must receive passing scores on the practice and state content, STR (if applicable), and supplemental (if applicable) by December 1, 2025, to begin residency I in the Spring 2026 semester.
