Welcome, women entrepreneurs to a CWE monthly small business training and networking series.

You will have the opportunity to meet and network with other women business owners and benefit from professional training. Bring your business cards to enter our monthly raffle and exchange with other business owners.

Time: 8 – 9 a.m.
Date: Second Tuesday of each month
Location: In person: Texas Woman’s University Denton campus, Old Main Building Room 257 (2nd floor)
Virtual: Full name as registered MUST be shown in Zoom to enter the program and includes iPhone or Android phone users. For security reasons, if the name doesn’t match, you won’t be let in.

Everyone will receive the Zoom link regardless of how you register. Please do not register for both in-person and virtual. All registered attendees, whether in person or online will receive the replay link after the event.

In-person attendance

In-person events will be held at Texas Woman’s University, Denton Campus, Old Main Building, 2nd Floor, Rm 257.

Breakfast will be served at 7:30 AM. The official program starts at 8:00 AM. Come and network with other female entrepreneurs. Make sure you bring your business cards.

All registered attendees, whether in person or online will receive the replay link after the event.

*It is a bit of a walk between the two parking areas and Old Main Building. You may want to consider wearing comfortable shoes to walk in and bring your dress shoes for the event.

Get Grant Ready: What It Takes to Submit a Strong Application

Small business grants can be competitive, and a strong application starts well before you hit submit. This WeRISE session will cover grant basics, what reviewers look for, common mistakes that can hurt an application, and how to prepare before an opportunity opens. You’ll also hear from an SBDC advisor who has helped prepare entrepreneurs who went on to become 13 grant recipients, sharing what businesses can do to be better prepared to apply.

Speaker:

Tracy Irby is the director at Texas Woman’s University – Center for Women Entrepreneurs. Irby spent six years as a small business advisor for 3 Small Business Development Centers. Irby’s entrepreneurial ventures include ownership of a Sears Hometown Dealer Store, a gym, a bounce house rental business, an online business, and a licensed insurance agency. Irby holds both an MBA & BBA in marketing from Texas A&M University-Commerce and is a graduate of the OU Economic Development Institute. She holds certifications as an Entrepreneurship Center Manager, Economic Development Finance Professional, and Master Economic Development Practitioner.
