Dr. Lynda Murphy

Lynda was hired by the TWU Graduate School in 1993. Before that, she worked for 10 years at Navarro College in student services and served as an adjunct instructor in their fine arts program. Currently, she coordinates TWU’s distance education activities.

Alli Peterson

Alli has been working with online students, faculty and staff since June 2001. After receiving her Master of Library Science degree from TWU, she joined the Blagg-Huey Library working with the Distance Education librarian on electronic reserves. She joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery in December 2003 where she provided expertise in instructional design and faculty development for 12 years, before assuming responsibility for the university’s learning management systems in November of 2015. Alli was named Associate Director of CD3 in March of 2022, overseeing faculty development, instructional design and special projects. In her free time, Alli loves to read, watch hockey and football, and spend time with her husband and daughter.

Denise joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery team in the fall of 2019. She holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology from the University of Texas at Arlington and transitioned from teaching to instructional design in 2015. As an ID, her goal is to provide instructors with the tools they need to deliver the best possible learning experience to their students, and she seeks to make the process as painless as possible for everyone involved. Denise has been using Quality Matters in online course design since 2015 and has reviewed a wide variety of online courses for colleges and universities across the nation. In her spare time, she is always reading, usually in the company of her dogs – a pair of Great Pyrenees. She enjoys hiking and kayaking and can often be found searching for treasure in thrift stores and antique shops.

Kyleigh began working as an instructional designer for TWU in the fall of 2022 while finishing her Master's in Library Science. Before she joined Texas Woman's, Kyleigh worked as a communication professor at a community college, technology implementation specialist, and middle school teacher. She received her Master's in Communication from Pittsburg State University in 2017. One of her main focus areas is Open Education Resources (OER) and educational affordability. Outside of work, Kyleigh travels with her partner, practices jiu jitsu, and plays video games.

Heidi Collins

Dr. Collins joined Texas Woman's University in spring of 2013. She received a BA in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a MS in Decision Information Systems from Arizona State University, and a PhD in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas. As the Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator in the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery, Heidi serves as the Canvas technical expert within the TWU community, responsible for all LMS management activities including technical configuration, user/account management, settings, course shell management, role permissions, integration with publisher content, third-party applications, and TWU systems.

Lynn joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery team in May 2022. She received her BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University and comes to TWU with a diverse work experience in employee training, database management and end-user technology support. As a Policy Administrator, Lynn works to provide support for instructors and staff in the use of the Learning Management System and integrated software for successful online classroom management while analyzing trends to proactively prevent future incidents. Lynn enjoys traveling and outdoor activities. She lives with her husband and cherishes time with her four adult children and their growing families.

Cindy has been at TWU since July of 1989 and with the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery since 2012. She received her BS in Family Studies from Texas Woman's University in 2014. In her current position, she designs promotional materials for events, maintains several websites, works on special projects, assists with events, and helps with student inquiries.

Robert joined TWU as an instructional designer in the Fall of 2022 after 15 years as a high-school English teacher in advanced academics. Having taught high-school and college-level courses since earning his master’s in English Language and Literature from University of Virginia in 2005, he brings his experience using course design and alignment best practices and implementing technology tools to engage diverse learners. Robert is enthusiastic about helping others build exciting, interactive courses that meet Quality Matters and Universal Design standards. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, working on art projects, and playing with his two daughters. He also loves running and yoga.

Audrey joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery team as an instructional designer in the fall of 2019. Prior to joining CD3, she taught English composition and Multicultural Women's and Gender Studies courses for more than 10 years, spending 2 years as a Visiting Assistant Professor. She received her MA in English from Colorado State University and PhD in Multicultural Women’s and Gender Studies from TWU. Her goal as a designer is to help faculty feel supported in their teaching, which includes finding tools to connect with students and make their classrooms more accessible. Audrey is interested in Open Educational Practices as a learner-driven approach to teaching that centers equity and inclusion. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and fur babies, baking, and gardening.

Terisa joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery in 2019. She received her M.Ed. in Educational Technology Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce and is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Curriculum and Instruction-Teacher Education program at Texas Tech University. As the Instructional Accessibility Designer, she works directly with instructors to recognize the importance accessibility and inclusion play in the design and development of teaching and learning by collaborating with instructors to use technology to create inclusive online courses that follow the universal design principles to provide all students with accessible and engaging learning experiences. Terisa is an IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies and is involved in several campus and professional organizations.

Rhonda has worked at TWU since 2007 and she joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery in April of 2015. She conducts administrative duties such as coordinating meetings, assisting with events, travel and purchases. She also interacts with students to provide answers, resources and contact information. Rhonda enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

In August of 2008, Valerie Shapko joined the Center for Development, Design, and Delivery as an Instructional Designer with 16 years of teaching experience. She partners with instructors to create new courses, and provides solutions for pedagogical and course design related requirements. Valerie leads efforts to review, research, evaluate, and frequently pilot new teaching and learning technologies at TWU. Valerie holds an Associate of Applied Science Degree in web site administration from The Art Institute of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and instructional design from Brooklyn College, and a Master of Business Administration and Global Management degree from the University of Phoenix. Valerie enjoys spending time with her husband, twin-sons and friends.

Heather brings over 15 years of undergraduate teaching experience to the CD3 team, specializing in English instruction in traditional, online, and hybrid formats. She holds multiple Quality Matters certifications including the Peer Reviewer Certification. She is excited to work with TWU instructors to help improve student engagement online. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in the Humanities from University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, she enjoys writing, yoga, and the arts.
