Pioneer Promise
Texas Woman’s has partnered with several high schools in North Texas to increase access to a quality university education.
The Pioneer Promise is a partnership with Denton ISD, Lake Dallas ISD, Little Elm ISD, Sanger ISD, and Everman ISD that provides scholarship opportunities and resources to local students.
Eligibility
To be accepted into the Pioneer Promise program, qualified students need to apply and be accepted to TWU.
For scholarship eligibility, a student will be chosen by that high school’s principal and that school should notify the Scholarships Office, scholarships@twu.edu or 940-898-3635.
Benefits
Pioneer Promise guarantees TWU admission to:
- Denton ISD high school graduates ranked in the top 30% of their junior class
- Lake Dallas ISD high school graduates in the top 25% of their junior class
- Little Elm ISD high school graduates in the top 30% of their junior class
- Sanger ISD high school graduates in the top 30% of their junior class
- Everman ISD high school graduate in the top 30% of their junior class
- A $2,000 renewable Pioneer Promise Scholarship awarded to a student chosen by their high school principal. Participating schools include:
- Denton High School
- Guyer High School
- Ryan High School
- Braswell High School
- Lake Dallas High School
- A $1,000 renewable Pioneer Promise Scholarship awarded to a student chosen by their high school principal
- Little Elm High School
- Sanger High School
- Everman ISD
- College readiness workshops to Denton ISD students, including information on dual credit/Advanced Placement programs, financial aid and scholarships
- An admissions counselor to serve as an official liaison between Denton high schools and the university
- Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment testing at each Denton ISD high school and at the Denton Advanced Technology Complex at least once during the spring semester
I am so proud to launch this initiative with North Texas high schools because it acknowledges the areas focus on cultivating students who are prepared for success in their academic, professional and personal lives.
