About ROTC

AROTC

ROTC Students

Students can do a two-year trial period with Army ROTC before making any commitments to the Army. However, when a student accepts a scholarship, he or she signs a contract with US Army promising to hit certain academic benchmarks and to serve in the armed forces after graduation. Contracted cadets earn a $420 a month stipend in exchange for meeting physical and education requirements..

Scholarship winners must serve for up to eight years in the Army, depending on the type of scholarship; non-scholarship Cadets who enroll in the ROTC Advanced Course must serve for three years in the Army. All who graduate and complete ROTC training are commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

Visit the GoArmy pages for more details about the service commitment.
