Our Educator Preparation Program is committed to preparing teacher candidates for entry and sustainability in educational settings. We are committed to embedding high quality research-based practices into all clinical placement settings.

Our office works closely with area schools to arrange high-quality field experience placements as well as clinical teaching placements. Moreover, our office offers mentoring and guidance to beginning educators during the early years of teaching through our New Teacher Academy.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Fall 2025 Clinical Student Teaching Application will be available in TK20 Feb. 1-22, 2025.

Clinical student teachers who are planning to student teach in Fall 2025 must apply during this window. Late applications will not be accepted. The last date for prospective clinical student teachers to drop a supplemental area is May 1, 2025.

Testing Requirements for Clinical Teachers and Interns

Fall 2025

Prospective Fall 2025 clinical student teachers and interns must receive passing scores on all required practice and state TExES exams by July 1, 2025 to begin clinical teaching or internship in the Fall 2025 semester.

Testing Requirements for Pioneer Teacher Residents

Fall 2025/Spring 2026

TWU candidates participating in the Pioneer Teacher Residency Program must receive passing scores on the practice and state content, STR (if applicable), and supplemental (if applicable) by July 1, 2025, to begin residency I in the Fall 2025 semester. Pioneer Teacher Residents must receive passing practice and state TExES scores on the PPR by December 1, 2025.
