Top scholarship goes to Coppell senior with strong academic, service record

She developed a keen interest in soccer as a small child, but it was a 2009 trip to her parents’ homeland in Nepal that expanded Binivaa Manandhar’s thoughts to weightier matters.

Manandhar, now a senior at Coppell High School, had a vivid memory of the Nepal visit that sticks with her to this day.

CWE to launch $250,000 grant program for women veterans

The Center for Women Entrepreneurs (CWE) at Texas Woman’s University today announced its inaugural Veteran Woman Entrepreneur Grant program, which supports women veterans in Texas who own their own businesses or are interested in launching one. 

TWU hosts Democracy in Action Day for local Girl Scouts

Being a Girls Scout is about more than selling cookies; it’s about leadership too. Thanks to a grant from Communities Foundation of Texas, 125 local Scouts learned about advocacy and the legislative process during a Democracy in Action Day sponsored by TWU’s Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy (CWPPP). At this full-day, virtual event held Saturday, March 20, girls in grades 3-12 participated in activities to earn the Women’s Right to Vote patch and Democracy badge.
