TWU Dance presents virtual dance concert ‘1200 Seconds’ April 24

The Texas Woman’s University Department of Dance is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by presenting its first virtual dance concert, “1200 Seconds.” The online event will feature 20 60-second dance solos in a digital video streaming format on Facebook Watch and Instagram TV Friday, April 24 at 7 p.m.
TWU professor leads effort to collect medical equipment to fight pandemic

That might be the best way to characterize Dr. Fuqin Liu during this coronavirus pandemic. Liu, an associate professor in TWU’s College of Nursing in Denton, assembled a large cadre of North Texans to collect badly needed personal protective equipment for health care professionals who are responding to the crisis.
TWU faculty members receive grant to assist children with autism

Texas Woman’s Associate Professor Jyutika Mehta, PhD, and Professor Cynthia Gill, EdD, of the Department of Communication Sciences and Oral Health, received a grant for $291,847 from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) to fund their work on autism.

As a young girl growing up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, Daisy Cantu was fascinated by the natural world and dreamed of becoming a doctor. She hoped to find a role model in the medical field who could provide some guidance, but as a child, she was struggling just to find a long-term living situation and a permanent family.
