Fourth Annual Pioneer Honor Band Festival

Friday-Saturday, Nov. 11-12, 2022

The Pioneer Honor Band Festival is back and we couldn’t be more excited! Join us on the TWU Denton Campus for a weekend of All-State Masterclasses (TMEA & ATSSB), Honor Band rehearsals, a special command performance by the Texas Woman’s University Wind Symphony and the grand finale Festival Concert. We are excited to welcome our 2022 Honor Band clinician, Dr. Richard Mark Heidel, director of bands at The University of Iowa. Participants are accepted through DIRECTOR RECOMMENDATION ONLY and space is LIMITED. We hope to see you in November.

Participation includes:

  • Membership in the 2022 Pioneer Honor Band with the finest high school students in the area. Students are accepted through director recommendation only.
  • Masterclass with applied faculty with special emphasis on TMEA and ATSSB All-State Etudes.
  • Tour of the Denton campus of Texas Woman’s University and lunch in our new dining facility
  • Special Friday night performance by the TWU Wind Symphony featuring Keith Packman on tuba
  • Festival concert experience on Saturday evening
