Twenty-five students from universities across the state have been selected for this competitive program. The curriculum includes workshops and sessions on media literacy, public speaking, advocacy strategies and public policy. A highlight of the program is a trip to the Texas State Capitol, where students will have the opportunity to meet with legislators and tour the historic statehouse, gaining first-hand insight into the legislative process.
“We’re proud to join this national network designed by CAWP to inspire a new generation of leaders,” said Marlene Phillips, director of the Center for Women in Government. “We look forward to an engaging and impactful week that will help shape the civic futures of these promising students.”
