Apply to Become a Peer Educator
As a TWU Peer Educator, you will gain valuable experience that can be applied in your
future endeavors, strengthen your work experience and enhance your resume. While all Peer
Educators are volunteers, we operate on a points system and those who meet the semester point
requirements will be eligible for a stipend and graduation swag.

Once you fill out the application, you will be contacted to set up a time for a brief interview. Please

What is a Peer Educator?
Responsibilities
Attend (in-person) weekly health topic training meetings every Thursday from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM during the Fall & Spring semesters at Student Health Services.
Pass knowledge competencies on health topics to facilitate educational events across campus
Plan educational interventions on various health topics
Facilitate health topic events & activities for fellow TWU students
Connect students to relevant health & wellness resources
Serve as a Peer Educator for TWU campus community

U in the Driver Seat
PATH partners with U in the Driver Seat, a peer to peer education program for college students dedicated to reducing their number one killer - car crashes.
Here are some stats you may not know:
- There is a higher total number of fatalities for 18-24 year olds (college) than 13-17 year old (jr. high/high school) group: 651 vs 114
- 56% of fatalities occurred on the weekend (Friday through Sunday)
- Crashes increased by 22% from Wednesday to Thursday as more and more students are going out on Thursdays.
- In 2016, 221,237 drivers aged 18-24 were involved in a car crash in Texas and of those crashes, 1,553 young adults died. (TxDOT C.R.I.S.)
Peers Against Tobacco
PATH partners with Peers Against Tobacco (PAT), a peer-led initiative to eradicate tobacco use on college campuses across Texas. We're here to help educate fellow students about the dangers of all forms of tobacco use.
