The TWU Police Department welcomes you to Texas Woman's University

Developing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for the university community is the primary mission of the TWU Police Department (TWUPD). We strive to meet this goal with professionally trained staff and the cooperation of all students, faculty and staff.

Our combined efforts result in TWU having one of the lowest rates of reported crime in the nation when compared to universities of similar size. This website provides information about the basic TWUPD services, crime and fire statistics. We hope that this information is helpful to you and will promote a genuine feeling of "community" within the university.

ACCREDITATION

The Texas Woman’s University Police Department is accredited through the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) standards. Accreditation status is awarded after a thorough independent on-site evaluation. During the on-site evaluation, IACLEA assessors ensure the agency is in compliance with identified IACLEA standards and best practices. Attaining accredited status demonstrates to the community that an agency is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional law enforcement service. The accreditation of an agency is awarded for a four-year period upon which the agency must apply for re-accreditation. Currently, only 1.5% of campus law enforcement agencies are accredited through IACLEA standards.
