Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a national holiday celebrating the birthday and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. held on the third Monday of January. In Dr. King's memory, MLK Day of Service commemorates his activism and public service. TWU Civic Engagement encourages students, faculty and staff to make this holiday a day ON rather than a day OFF.

This year, the Center for Student Development, in collaboration with the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Outreach, will be joining the Denton MLK Jr. Rec Center for a day of learning and service. We want to encourage students to engage in this educational service oriented event to further help them understand social issues and concepts. Details for the event are still being solidified, but as they become available we will update this webpage.

Student Organizations — as well as individual students — are encouraged to participate!

Date: January 17, 2022
