Following up on last year’s stage reading of Frankenstein, the 2025-26 season will open Sept. 6 with a stage reading of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. The performance, in collaboration with Lamplight Theatre Co., takes place at 2 and 7 p.m. and admission is free.
Our Town, Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the lives of the people of Gover’s Corners, will highlight themes of community and the passage of time. Patrick Bynane, PhD, will direct. Our Town runs Oct. 14-15 and 17-19.
The Fall semester portion of the season finishes with the political farce POTUS: or Behind Every Great Dumb*$$ Are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive. The play, written by Selina Fillinger, offers a look at the women managing a presidential crisis on one chaotic day. The play will be directed by TWU alumna Claire Perry.
The Spring semester opens with an original, student-devised, collaboratively created production called Project (Re)Birth. Set in a near future dystopia in which government enforces reproductive legislation in response to a fertility crisis, the play follows a young woman forced to navigate a world where bodily autonomy is a mandate. Directed by Noah Lelek, PhD, the play runs Feb. 18-22.
The season wraps with The Winter’s Tale, William Shakespeare’s tale of jealous King Leontes, who accuses his wife Hermione of infidelity, leading to intense sorrow and loss. The Winter’s Tale will be directed by Steven Young and runs Apr. 15-19.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. TWU Theatre offers a pay-what-you-can option available for every Saturday 2 p.m. performance.
