For Students
The Student Government Association is here to represent YOU! The SGA does that in a variety of ways, including collecting students' suggestions surrounding campus concerns, creating and researching resolutions that advocate for change on campus and advocating for students in meetings with campus leaders and administrators. SGA also hosts programs and tablings designed to enhance the student experience on campus while also increasing engagement.
The SGA also provides information regarding resources and services available to students both on and off campus including the Pioneer Discount Program and student resources reserve, which lists information and links to some of the most commonly asked-about and utilized resources on campus.
TWView- Student Suggestions
Share your view with us! The TWView Form enables students to submit thoughts, ideas, questions, and concerns. SGA members will use various strategies to address each submission, depending on the information received. These strategies include writing a resolution, meeting with campus stakeholders to discuss the issue, hosting a town hall to gather feedback from more students and bring campus stakeholders together to discuss the issue, and creating additional opportunities for outreach and education regarding current campus policies or support services.
Find our TWView Form on our myTWU page!
Resolutions
Writing, researching, and passing resolutions is one of the biggest ways SGA creates long-term, sustained change on campus. Anyone can write a resolution to submit to the Student Senate for research.
Write a Proposal for Change through our form on myTWU!
Open Forum
Want to share your thoughts with Senators? A Student Government Open Forum is a time set aside for students, staff, and organizations to speak at a Student Senate meeting. The purpose of an open forum is to provide a space for students to share their opinions and take action. Up to five (5) students may speak for two (2) minutes at each senate meeting on a topic of importance they would like the senators to hear.
In order to speak, a student must complete the request form no less than two (2) days prior to a Student Senate meeting, which is held every Tuesday from 4:00 PM- 5:00 PM. The Speaker of the Senate will contact students who have requested to speak to confirm their request and meeting details. The Speaker may deny a speech that is unduly repetitious of one previously given or if the speech is off topic from what they originally requested.
Submit an Open Forum Speaker Request on ourm myTWU page.

Events
Greet Your Government - Greet Your Government is an opportunity for students to meet with their current SGA representatives and learn more about Student Government. Students will be able to get more information about current resolutions, upcoming events, and ways to get involved.
Night Walk - Night Walk serves as a way for students and administrators to connect while identifying areas of concern on campus. Each year, SGA's First Year Leaders On Campus (FLOC) collaborate with campus partners to walk around campus identifying safety and accessibility concerns. At the conclusion of the event, a report is drafted documenting each area of concern and is shared with administrators and other stakeholders.
Tabling - Tabling is the primary way SGA members are able to connect with their constituents on campus. Regular tabling is held throughout the semester in various locations on campus in order to connect with students, promote upcoming events, and receive feedback on current campus concerns.
Campus Elections - Campus Elections occur once a year in the spring semester and are coordinated by the Elections Commission. Visit our campus elections page to get more information about the available positions and to view important dates, deadlines, and rules of campaigning for office.
