Campus Elections
Campus Elections provide the opportunity to voice your opinion! Campus Elections happen once a year in the spring and are used to determine the next set of Student Government leaders and members.
The Elections Commission and the Pioneers Vote team coordinate campus elections each year. The Elections Commission and Student Supreme Court serve as the adjudicating board for all election-related complaints as well as the primary resource for candidates.
Process
There are several ways to get involved based on interests and desired experiences; learn more about the different types of involvement and how to join on our “Get Involved” page.
For students seeking elected positions, they will need to run in Campus Elections. To be elected to a leadership or senatorial position in Student Government, you must:
- Meet the qualifications for the office you seek.
- File for campus elections via Pioneer Engage. Dates for filing are announced each fall and typically occur in February.
- Attend an election code meeting. Meeting dates, times and locations can be found in the Election Code.
- Candidates running for Student Body President, Vice President of Campus Affairs, Vice President of Community Relations, and Chief Justice must meet with the SGA Advisor prior to the start of campaigning.
- Follow all campaign guidelines during the campaigning and voting cycle.
- Receive the necessary votes to be elected.
