TWU alumna Jessica Hernandez always knew she wanted to go into the health care field and medical research fascinated her. She already was planning to return to TWU for her Master of Science in Chemistry degree when she got an email from the TWU Alumni Engagement office announcing a new scholarship exclusively for alumni pursuing a second degree from the university: The TWU Alumni Graduate Education Scholarship. She knew she had made the right decision to get her MS at TWU when she applied and was awarded the scholarship.
TWU’s all-female design competition team tackles space headaches in astronauts

Five Texas Woman’s kinesiology seniors brought research to life by competing in the Texas Space Grant Consortium Design Challenge Showcase April 20-21. The TWU Athena V team, the second all-female TWU team to enter the competition and the only all-female team competing this spring, placed seventh overall. All five team members will graduate this May.

Grant aims to increase STEM engagement in Indigenous communities

The National Science Foundation has awarded a $99,786 planning grant that will allow a TWU research team to develop strategies to recruit and retain more Indigenous students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
