Dr. Gretchen Busl is a Professor of English and Director of the Quality Enhancement Plan "Amplify Your Impact" at Texas Woman’s University. Her work combines narrative theory, rhetoric, and gender studies to examine how we communicate across borders and between discourse communities. A passionate advocate for public scholarship and the transformation of graduate education, she is the co-editor of the forthcoming The Process of Becoming: New Directions for the Humanities Dissertation for the Modern Languages Association. She is an Executive Committee Member of the International Society of the Study of Narrative and a founding member of their Narrative for Social Justice initiative.

Dr. Elizabeth Brownlow, an alumna of TWU, supports our community in reimagining the potential of their work to have public impact, building on academics’ unique skills and experiences to become thought leaders contributing to community wellbeing. With a background in fostering public and community-engaged humanities scholarship, and experience driving nonprofit communications strategy, she has a deep belief in the potential (and the need) for scholars to connect their important knowledge to the world around them and contribute to public good. She creates and facilitates public-facing communications programming, coaches folks one-on-one in developing thought leadership skills and teaching, and collaborates with various units across campus to support students in developing skills and experiences that demonstrate the impact of their academic activities and prepare them to enter the workforce.

As the QEP Coordinator, Taylor collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement initiatives that enhance the overall student experience, with a focus on improving student learning outcomes and fostering a sense of belonging. Taylor is passionate about inclusive programs that support the diverse needs of the TWU community. She is committed to using her creativity in providing a positive impact on QEP initiatives, ensuring that all students feel empowered and connected throughout their academic journey.

Brooke’s mission while being a part of the QEP team is to understand the needs and wants of each student that crosses her path. While you can find Brooke helping with scheduling, events, and keeping the office running, you can also find her soaking up the knowledge that is being shared across the TWU campus. Outside of her role as the Senior Secretary you can find Brooke spending time with her kids, coaching youth soccer, listening to podcasts, or reading.

Anna is a graduate student at TWU in the English MA program. She works on survey design, assessment strategies, and data collection with the QEP team to better understand how graduate student feelings of belonging are influenced by thought leadership. She is dedicated to helping her fellow Pioneers see themselves as experts, and sharing the knowledge we cultivate as scholars with a wider community. Anna is passionate about the unique culture of our campus and making sure students, staff, and faculty all feel supported by our department’s initiatives.
