TWU VetHUB Program
Texas Woman’s University is committed to the goal of providing the maximum opportunity for Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) to compete for university procurement opportunities. Texas Woman’s University will seek to achieve this goal by providing leadership and developing and growing positive VetHUB vendor relationships through advocacy and education. Texas Woman’s University will make a good faith effort to improve community awareness, to create a fair and open competitive market, and to assist VetHUBs to increase the number and value of contracts awarded for construction, professional services, supplies, materials, and equipment.
What is a VetHUB?
A business designated as an active Veteran Heroes United in Business (VetHUB) is a for-profit entity that is at least 51% owned by a Service Disabled Veteran who reside in Texas and actively participate in the control, operations and management of the entity's affairs.

Mentor-Protégé Program
TWU’s Mentor-Protégé Program is designed under the authority of Section 2161.065 of the Texas Government Code to facilitate mentor-protégé relationships between prime contractors and VetHUBs.
The goal is to build and strengthen the capacity of VetHUBs to successfully compete for state contracts.
The objective of the program is to provide professional guidance and support to the protégé (VetHUB) to facilitate their growth and development and increase VetHUB contracts and subcontracts with TWU and other state agencies in Texas.
Participation in the TWU program:
- requires the protégé be State of Texas VetHUB certified
- is voluntary for both mentor and protégé
