TWU honors alumni, organization for outstanding achievement

April 26, 2023 ― DENTON ― Texas Woman’s University has recognized four Texas women and two chapters of a North Texas organization for outstanding achievement.

The honorees were recognized during the 2023 Alumni Achievement Awards celebration at Texas Woman’s University in Denton on April 22.

The awards recognize outstanding Texas Woman’s graduates for their professional accomplishments, career distinctions, community service and dedication to the university.

The honorees and the awards they received are as follows:

Carol Ireton-Jones, Chancellor’s Alumni Excellence Award. Ireton-Jones is a nationally recognized nutrition therapy specialist widely known for the Ireton-Jones Energy Equations, which predict energy expenditure in patients.

Dianne Randolph, Distinguished Alumni Award. Randolph is an artist, educator and activist. A classically trained soprano, she has performed around the world, exploring the rich styles of African-American and European music traditions.

Tiana Janes, Young Alumni Award. James is manager of PR & Partnerships for Victoria’s Secret PINK. Besides leading first-of-a-kind initiatives for the PINK brand, James co-founded Amplifyed, a digital education course designed to mentor aspiring marketers.

The Honorable Alia Moses, Jane Nelson Institute for Women’s Leadership Distinguished Public Service Award. Moses is the first woman to become chief U.S. judge of the Western District of Texas. She also has served as a federal magistrate, prosecutor and assistant county attorney, and has mentored some 60 young lawyers through clerkships in her court.

Empowering Women as Leaders, Dallas and Fort Worth chapters, Maroon and White Award. This organization supports women achieving their highest potential through scholarships, mentoring and networking. In a partnership with TWU that began in 2004, the organization has awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships.
