TWU Nursing Faculty Member Receives $534,000 NIH Grant

Texas Woman's University College of Nursing Professor Pinky Budhrani-Shani, Ph.D., has been awarded a $534,000 National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant for her proposed research on “Caring for Caregivers with Mind-Body Exercise,” the first-ever study related to the practice of Qigong for caregivers. This grant also marks the first time in more than a decade that TWU's College of Nursing has received funding from NIH.

TWU Theatre presents ‘Mother Courage and Her Children’

The Texas Woman’s University Theatre Program continues its 2018-2019 Season with Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children, directed by associate professor Steven Young. Performances will take place Nov. 14-18 in the Redbud Theater Complex. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. The Saturday matinee will be a pay-what-you-can performance.

From first year to PT grad student, Mathis’ light shined brighter

It seems like Monica Mathis (DPT '20) is always moving. That’s not exactly unexpected for a physical therapy graduate student, but with Mathis, if you blink, she might already be on to her next commitment. In the five and a half years she’s been at TWU, Mathis hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down – from her first year as a shy, soft-spoken undergraduate kinesiology major to the outgoing, confident student in the physical therapy graduate program she is today.

Lindsay Allen remembers her application process as a prospective high school student very well. One of the first things the Fort Worth native noticed was that each professor and staff member she met with was friendly, encouraging, and they genuinely cared about her and her education.
