Honors Academics
Empowering students by developing their intellectual strengths through stimulating classes and in-depth mentoring.
Program requirements
The Honors Scholar Program and Touchstone Honors Program have their own respective requirements; however each program follows the three main pillars of honors: Scholarship, Service, and Social-Cultural Enrichment. These pillars were established to ensure the holistic development of the student through an enhanced classroom experience, fostering a spirit of giving back, and expanding their cultural/professional understanding.
The difference in requirements reflects the amount of time a student is anticipated to spend in each program (HSP 3-4 Years; THP 2 Years).
Scholarship
- Honors Courses
- Capstone Research Projects
- Creative Works
- Scholarly Presentations
Service
Community engagement through service projects and volunteer work in the DFW community.
Social-cultural
Events, workshops, and social gatherings around the DFW area.
Honors advising
Following acceptance into the program, students will receive advising from an Honors staff member to outline their plan for incorporating honors requirements into their degree plan. This advising will ensure that students are able to complete their requirements in a timely manner, while also attending to their departmental and major requirements.
Priority registration
Students in the honors programs have the benefit of priority registration, which allows for early registration on the first day.
