Personal experience prompts path to healthcare degree

A phone call with her grandmother ultimately led Tricia Whaley to Texas Woman’s University Dallas and the Health Care Administration program. She plans to graduate in December 2024 with an MHA with an emphasis in global health.

Master’s student adds scholarship to healthcare resume

Vamsidhara Vemireddy, a Texas Woman’s graduate student on the Dallas campus, is the latest winner of the Foster G. McGaw Scholarship. The McGaw Scholarship is given annually to a student in the MHA or the dual MHA-MBA program in the TWU Healthcare Administration program. 

Grad student pairs travel, service passions to support children’s hospital

Theodore Fields III combined his passions for traveling and service with a tailor-made trip to Antigua, Guatemala. The dual MBA/MHA graduate student in the College of Business spent two weeks volunteering in July with the GOD’S CHILD Project, which provides support in education, medical care, housing and food security to vulnerable children and families.

TWU researcher to study impact of COVID misinformation on Hispanics

Rigoberto Delgado, PhD, an associate professor in health administration at TWU’s Houston campus, was awarded a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in May to measure the extent and effect of COVID-19 misinformation and disinformation among Hispanics and to provide data to design policies to combat misconceptions about the virus. 

HCA graduate team takes top honor at virtual case competition

A graduate team from Texas Woman’s Health Care Administration Department took the top prize at the 13th Annual Case Competition hosted by the George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management on April 1.
