Raechel Corey
Raechel Corey is a dancer, choreographer and teacher residing in Dallas. She received her entry level training in ballet and contemporary at the Metropolitan Ballet of Tacoma in Washington state from 2003-2014 with Damaris Caughlin. In 2015, Corey attended Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU-I) to receive her BA in dance pedagogy. There, she performed a variety of styles including tap, jazz, ballroom and classical modern dance for the BYU-I touring dance team Dance Alliance. She was also a member of the Dance Society for the dance department and was responsible for planning workshops, finding guest artists and finding performing opportunities for students.
Later, Corey moved to Dallas where she began working at Sheena’s Dance Academy in Frisco and choreographed for their non-profit company The Frisco Ballet in their annual Nutcracker productions. In 2022, she was accepted as a candidate for the MFA program at Texas Woman's University where she is developing her choreographic style using music as inspiration. She has worked with the University of North Texas composition class in collaboration, performed a contemporary bharatanatyam solo at the American College Dance Association and also worked with guest artist Abdel Salaam from New York to restage his work, B’ Smoove.
