Charles Collins
Charles Collins is an African American choreographer, performing artist and educator dedicated to using voguing as a powerful medium for storytelling within his community. Based in Fort Worth, Charles hails from Kansas City, Kan., where his passion for dance and movement began. He pursued his undergraduate studies at Lamar University, earning a BS in theatre and dance. Currently, Charles is in his third year of an MFA program at Texas Woman’s University, where he contributes to the academic environment as a costume coordinator, production assistant, and graduate teaching assistant.
Beyond his academic role, Charles is the company director and curriculum curator at Studio C Dance in Burleson, Texas, where he is instrumental in shaping the dance curriculum and instructs a diverse range of classes, including community, competitive and pre-professional dance. His commitment to the art form and his community drives his work, blending creative expression with educational mentorship to inspire and engage dancers of all ages.
