Caroline Slayton

Caroline Slayton (she/her) is a student, performer and choreographer based in Lafayette, Louisiana. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2025 and is pursuing her MFA in Dance at TWU.

Slayton has been employed at various dance studios in the Lafayette area. She is Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) certified and trained in the Cecchetti Method (level 4). Her training at ULL was guided by mentors Marie Broussard, Michael Crotty and Alex McBride, who profoundly shaped her development as a dancer and choreographer.

Slayton’s choreographic work often investigates how past experiences and personal history are embodied, as seen in her solo The Dividing Pair, which explores past traumas from her youth through movement. She has performed in classical ballet repertoire including a restaged Pas de Quatre, Paquita and a variation from The Sleeping Beauty. She has also worked with Fabio Liberti in Shells and has performed in works by Rebecca Aneloski and Norbert De La Cruz III.

Her broader training includes summer intensives at Ballet Magnificat, Joffrey Ballet School, Cecchetti Council of America, Omaha Ballet Motion 41 and Dance West in Utah.
