Short Bio

Wen Xu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) in Denton, Texas.

Wen received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas in December 2014, supervised by Dr. Weili Wu. She also received her M.S. in Computer Applied Technology and B.S in Software Engineering from Dalian University of Technology, China in 2010 and 2008, respectively. Before she joined TWU in August 2016, she was an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department of New Mexico State University for one year.

Wen loves teaching and also enjoys advising students on their research projects. Her main research interests include data mining and visualization, computational social networks, network communication and cyber security. So far, she has published more than 15 research papers in reputable journals and conferences such as AHSWN, SNAM, JOCO, ICC and DASFAA. She has also served as Session Chair, Technical Program Committee member, Financial Chair or Publication Chair in multiple academic conferences including SOCIALCOME 2016, Globecom-AHSN 2016, MSN 2015, COCOA2014 and IEEE MSN 2014.
