TWU grad student attends Green Chemistry School
Sept. 25, 2023 – DENTON – TWU graduate student Raven Gallenstein was one of sixty students selected to attend the Green Chemistry Summer School, hosted by the American Chemistry Association and held in Golden, Colo., last summer.
The event featured scientists and industry professionals teaching on aspects of sustainable and green chemistry to create chemistry advocates and support graduate students in leadership roles.
Among those attending was John Warner, American chemist and one of the founders of green chemistry and co-author of Green Chemistry: Theory and Practice, the first introductory book on processes central to green chemistry.
Among the themes was making green chemistry more than a sub-discipline of chemistry.
Gallenstein presented a poster at the School.
"It was so amazing to meet these peers because together we will become the next generation of researchers and if we work together we will solve so many problems," Gallenstein said.
