Each year, TWU celebrates Constitution Day, which commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787.

In September TWU holds events for students, faculty, staff and the Denton community.

The events include: voter registration tables, giveaways, displays in the Blagg-Huey Library, and panel discussions.

Examples of past discussion panels are: “What Do Political Parties Do (and How Can I Help?)”, “Your Life After the 2021 Supreme Court Term”, and “The Constitution Behind Closed Doors and Your Right to Privacy”.

The events are hosted by TWU Libraries, the Center for Women in Government and the History & Political Science Department. TWU’s theme for Constitution Day 2024 is “Gerrymandering and How Your Vote Counts”.
