Rebecca Aulbach came to TWU in 2015 as full-time faculty in the College of Nursing at the Houston Center. She is teaches in the undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program where she manages the final senior nursing course Critical Competency Integration. Dr. Aulbach joined the TWU Center for Global Nursing in 2016 traveled to China in 2017 where she spoke on conducting clinically oriented nursing research.
Prior to joining the TWU faculty, Dr. Aulbach worked in a large hospital in the Texas Medical Center where she provided critical care education of nurses and designed quality programs and instituted best practice changes for optimal patient care. Dr. Aulbach’s research interests are in blood transfusion therapy, patient safety and quality, and simulation in undergraduate education of nurses. For her dissertation research she developed a highly reliable and validated survey tool on nurses’ education and practices with blood transfusions, Nurses Practices’ with Blood Transfusions: Medical-Surgical Acute Care Web-based Survey. The survey was administered via a secure internet based platform to hospitals throughout the United States.
