Mission

The mission of ASSET is to support Texas Woman’s University staff through various initiatives and goals. We aim to raise funds for the J. Wilkes Berry, Ph.D. Memorial Endowment Fund and the ASSET Scholarship, which provide financial assistance to TWU staff who are employed and enrolled at the University during the scholarship award periods.

ASSET is committed to fostering the career and personal growth of its members through conferences, workshops, programs, and guest speakers. We also serve as a platform for TWU’s service and support staff to contribute to the University’s academic and professional excellence.

Additionally, we seek to identify and develop service opportunities that benefit TWU students, staff, faculty, and the broader community. ASSET is also dedicated to offering hardship relief, fellowship, and support to TWU staff in times of need.

The New ASSET

We are happy to announce that ASSET has rebranded what our name means to better suit our affinity group. We are a staff group for ALL staff below the director level. In the past, the name of our group was TOSS (TWU Office Support Staff) and then in 1996 was changed to ASSET which stood for Association of Services Support Employees of TWU.

At the end of 2023, we changed the meaning of our abbreviation ASSET to be Actively Serving and Supporting Employees of TWU. We feel that this better indicates what our group does. We are a safe space for staff to come and be social, to talk about how we're doing and even vent about what may be troubling us. Work can get hectic and overwhelming at times, which is why we are about serving and supporting one another.
