SACSCOC Accreditation

Texas Woman’s University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees. Texas Woman's University also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of Texas Woman’s University may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).

Every ten years each accredited institution undergoes intensive off-site and on-site reviews to maintain its accreditation. TWU's accreditation was reaffirmed in 2023, and the university's next reaffirmation is scheduled for 2033. Every year, TWU prepares and submits updates on enrollment and finances.  Midway between accreditation cycles, the university also prepares an abbreviated compliance report entitled the Fifth-Year Interim Report. In addition, the university reports on substantive changes that require SACSCOC notification or approval.
