The Health & Wellbeing Initiative offers a variety of programs and services designed to support students as they build healthy habits, strengthen connections, and develop skills that support academic success and personal wellbeing.
Many of these opportunities are led by trained Peer Wellness Ambassadors, creating a supportive peer-to-peer environment where students can learn, connect, and grow together.
Whether students are looking to build community, develop practical life skills, or explore new wellbeing practices, HWI provides accessible ways to get involved.
Programs & Services
Peer Wellness Coaching
Peer wellness coaching provides students with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a trained Peer Wellness Ambassador to explore personal wellbeing goals, identify challenges, and develop practical strategies for success.
Through guided conversation and goal-setting, students can reflect on their experiences and build sustainable habits that support their overall wellbeing.
Coaching sessions may focus on topics such as:
- Time management
- Stress management
- Building healthy habits
- Navigating campus resources
- Goal setting and personal development
What to Expect
Coaching sessions are supportive, confidential conversations focused on helping students clarify their goals and identify next steps.
Peer Connection Groups
Peer Connection Groups create spaces where students can gather with peers who share common interests or experiences related to wellbeing.
These small group sessions encourage conversation, reflection, and community-building while exploring topics connected to the Five Pillars of Wellbeing.

Grounded Gaming
A relaxed space where students connect through games while discussing strategies for stress management and balance.
Thriving on a Budget
Conversations and activities focused on financial wellbeing and practical money management skills.
Self-Care Journaling
A reflective space where students explore journaling as a tool for mindfulness and emotional wellbeing.
Connection groups are open to students at all stages of their wellbeing journey.
Wellness Talks & Educational Programs
Wellness Talks provide interactive presentations designed to help students build practical knowledge and skills related to health, wellbeing, and personal development.
These presentations are led by Peer Wellness Ambassadors and often incorporate discussion, reflection, and skill-building activities.
Topics may include
- Stress management and resilience
- Nutrition and healthy habits
- Time management
- Financial wellbeing
- Physical activity and energy
Campus organizations, student groups, and departments can also request presentations for their programs or events.
Wellbeing Society
The Wellbeing Society offers students opportunities to engage more deeply with the Five Pillars of Wellbeing through events, leadership opportunities, and skill-building activities.
Students participating in the Wellbeing Society can explore different aspects of wellbeing while connecting with peers and developing leadership experience.
Participation may include:
- Workshops and campus events
- Leadership opportunities
- Peer engagement initiatives
- Community wellbeing activities
Peer Wellness Ambassadors
Peer Wellness Ambassadors are trained student leaders who help support the wellbeing of the campus community.
Ambassadors facilitate coaching sessions, lead connection groups, deliver wellness presentations, and help connect students with campus resources.
Their work helps create a supportive peer network that encourages students to learn from and support one another.
