Civics Learning Center

Welcome to the Civics Learning Center!

Three students play the iCivics game and virtually run a fictitious county.

Here you can learn all about civics, which is the study or science of the privileges and obligations of citizens.

Counties Work Texas Game

Counties Work Texas game

In the Civics Learning Center, you can play Counties Work: Texas, created in partnership with iCivics, a non-profit founded by Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Select a character, create a county and help your citizens complete their tasks!

Not to be competitive, but iCivics hosts a daily leaderboard for the top 10 “county officials” each day.

Sandra Day O’Connor Exhibit

On display in the Civics Learning Center are artifacts from the life of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court. You will learn about her childhood on the Lazy B, a 198,000-acre cattle ranch, which was quite a contrast to her later education and professional career.
