TWU Changes Access to North Loop Parking

Nov. 17, 2023 — DENTON — As TWU continues construction of the Health Sciences Center, access to the north loop parking lot will change beginning Monday, Nov. 27.

Students, faculty and staff will access the lot via Ruddell Street rather than Parliament Village. This new gravel road access point is only temporary and will close when the Frame Street entry via University Drive is completed.

In addition, a new pathway from the north loop lot will route pedestrian and Night Owl golf cart traffic through the tennis courts in order to avoid construction areas. The university will also install new lighting along the pathway to enhance safety. While pedestrians and emergency vehicles will maintain access to the area, no parking will be permitted on the east side of Mary’s Hall for the remainder of construction.

During the transition, the gate off of Ruddell will remain open at all times to provide continual access to the north loop lot. However, the TWU Police will continue to have an increased presence in the area, and a new guard shack placed near the Ruddell Street entry will ensure the security of our TWU community.

The university is committed to maintaining vehicular and pedestrian safety throughout the project and appreciates your cooperation and understanding.
