Spring 2022 COVID-19 Testing

Dear TWU Pioneers,

With the start of spring classes next week, we want to make you aware of our COVID-19 testing options. To reiterate last week’s message from Dr. Grant, TWU does not plan to implement the mandatory, proactive COVID-19 testing program at this time. However, we do encourage you to be mindful of your health, self-screen, and test if you are experiencing symptoms or if you have been exposed to COVID-19 within the past 3-5 days.

Dallas and Houston

Testing kits will be available on Dallas and Houston campuses within the next two weeks (actual date may vary depending on delivery schedule). Each kit contains two (2) tests and may be picked up in person at the Student Life offices. To pick up a kit, please be prepared to show a valid TWU ID and complete our log sheet. Kits will be limited to one box per person per day. If you feel you will be unable to secure a test from a local provider in your area due to shortages, you may pick up a COVID-19 test before you exhibit symptoms. Please do not come to campus if you feel ill or are exhibiting symptoms.

If your test returns a positive result, you are required to complete our COVID-19 Reporting form for contact tracing purposes and should follow quarantine protocols.

Denton

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 18, COVID-19 testing and vaccinations will be available at Brackenridge Hall, Garden Room from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday. Testing will continue to be available at Brackenridge Hall through the end of the month while testing supplies last, although days and hours may vary based on demand.

Drive-through testing will be available in the Lowry Parking lot beginning the week of January 17. Dates and times will be posted on TWU’s coronavirus website. Additionally, you may also schedule COVID-19 testing at SHS by appointment

If at any time you receive a positive result, you are required to complete our COVID-19 Reporting Form for contact tracing purposes and should follow quarantine protocols

Members of the TWU community are encouraged to get the vaccine booster if eligible, as this is particularly important with the current Omicron variant. Also, as a reminder, TWU still strongly recommends wearing masks indoors when around others.

With your continued vigilance, we will get through this together. Stay safe, stay well, and have a great 2022!

With Pioneer Pride,
TWU Student Life
