Parking lots have new signage, enforcement

Jan. 27, 2023 — DENTON — Starting last fall, TWU’s Parking Office began installing new parking lot signage. Now that the process is nearing completion, enforcement will begin.

“Up to this point, we have been giving warnings, but we really need everyone to park in the correct lots going forward,” said Marcus Wenzel, director of parking services.

The lots most impacted are those that have changed to all silver permit lots only, including:

• Old Main parking lot
• Visual Arts parking lot (south side of the building that borders Texas Street)
• Chapel Drive

As a reminder, students may purchase maroon or maroon garage parking permits. Only employees may purchase silver, silver garage or reserved parking permits. ADA parking permits are available upon validation of ADA parking privileges.

Students looking for available parking are encouraged to seek spaces in Schmitz, Pirtle or Lowry lots as well as the newest lot by the soccer fields. While these may be a bit farther away, they will offer the best chances for finding student parking quickly. Students should also consult the parking map and become familiar with the maroon lot options.
