2021-2022 Parking Permits

July 23, 2021 — DENTON — Parking decals for the Denton and Dallas campuses will be available for purchase beginning Aug. 2 at twu.edu/parking

Please be advised, you will need to provide your vehicle’s description and license plate number when applying. After making your purchase, print the temporary permit from the portal and display it on your passenger-side dashboard with the barcode facing up until you receive your annual permit in the mail. The permit is valid for parking both on the Dallas and Denton campuses.

When you receive your permit, please affix it to your vehicle’s windshield (bottom passenger side). Permits are good for the 2021-2022 academic year and expire on Aug. 31, 2022. Parking permits are required to park on campus from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Parking permits allow you to park in campus lots that correspond to your decal. Parking designations are as follows:

  • FS/C: Faculty/Staff and Commuter
  • FSR: Faculty/Staff Reserved
  • FS: Faculty/Staff Only
  • R: Resident
  • G: Denton Garage

Temporary/daily permit options are available for students who are on campus infrequently.  Purchase of a temporary/daily permit does not guarantee a space, and refunds are not available.

  • Temporary/Daily Denton surface lots and Dallas campus: $10
  • Temporary/Daily Denton garage: $16

Annual permit prices:

  • Denton/Dallas Commuter Students: $200*
  • Denton Residential Students: $115*
  • Denton garage non-reserved (available to faculty, staff and students): $350

*A HEERF fund subsidy will be applied so that the total charged to the student is $70 for the 2021-2022 year for R and C permits only. This subsidy does not apply to garage permits nor to residential students who elect to purchase a commuter permit. At the time of purchase, the full price will be applied. Subsidies will be shown on the student account/bill.

The rate changes are the result of recommendations from the TWU Parking Committee presented in February 2020. After operating in a deficit and deferring increases for several years, the committee suggested changes to cover costs associated with maintaining parking lots and structures. Increases were slated to take effect fall 2020 but were delayed due to the pandemic.

The no-decal lot is located on the north side of 380 (University Drive) at Frame and Woodland Streets. A shuttle bus will be available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday only. Drop off and pickup will be under the covered area at the apex of the circular drive in front of ACT. However, parking is limited, and the lot fills quickly. Please note, there will be no parking and no shuttle service to Denton Bible Church.

If you require additional permits, please contact the Parking  Office at the Denton Campus in the Oakland Complex (1201 Oakland St., Denton TX 76204), parking@twu.edu or 940-898-2925.

If you use an ADA parking space, please provide a copy of your completed TxDMV Form VTR-214 or a copy of the tax receipt for your plate for verification to the Parking Office. The form can be dropped off at our office or scanned and emailed to parking@twu.edu
