Aria joins SLIS faculty

Paria Aria, PhD

Nov. 18, 2024 — DENTON — With a background in academic and health science librarianship, Paria Aria, PhD, joined the School of Library and Information Studies in Fall 2024. 

Aria earned her doctoral degree from the University of North Texas and her research interests include knowledge sharing and information sharing. In a recent study, she investigated the impact of student perceptions on knowledge sharing between international instructors and students. 

Additional areas of interest include library and information science (LIS) education, leadership, and global librarianship.

Aria is involved with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and is currently the convenor of the New Professionals Special Interest Group within IFLA. She is passionate about supporting the next generation of librarians and helping LIS students develop in preparation for professional careers.
