April 18-19 The 2017 Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium is an annual event that highlights research and scholarly activities of undergraduate and graduate students across many departments and colleges. In addition to the platform and poster presentations by TWU students, the student symposium features special sessions showcasing student research, the Chancellor’s Student Research Scholars, the scholarship of the graduate council awardees, and an external keynote speaker. Oct 3 Research Enhancement Program (REP): The primary purpose of the REP is to provide seed money (up to $10,000) so that faculty will be able to compete more successfully for larger research grants from external sources. Competitions are held twice a year and applications to the fall competition are due Oct 3. Guidelines and application materials are now available. N/A
Oct 3 Creative Arts and Humanities Grants Program: These grants of up to $5,000 support TWU faculty projects in areas which ordinarily have very limited opportunity to receive external grant funding yet have the potential to enhance scholarship and TWU's profile nationally and internationally. Special Invitation Workshop on Developing a Concept Paper and Contacting a Program Officer: ORSP and CRDA is hosting a special invitation workshop with Rebecca Huenink from Hanover Research. Rebecca is a grant development consultant who works with faculty completing grant proposals to federal agencies and foundations. This 3-hour hands-on workshop will walk participants through the often missing but critical program officer meeting and how to develop a strong concept paper for your proposal idea. If you are interested in attending this workshop, contact the CRDA at crda@twu.edu.

Feb 16 Graduate Research Associate Award: The purpose of this internally funded Graduate Research Associate Award is to provide direct financial support to enhance scholarly outcomes for research-active faculty and professional development for graduate students. This funding support is provided in two forms: 1) a research associate position for an incoming master’s student and 2) travel support for both the faculty member and the student. Applications were due Feb 16.  
Feb 20 Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium Abstracts are due.  
Feb 23 Student Creative Arts and Research Symposium nominations for Chancellor’s Student Research Scholars are due.
