Registration opens for Askew Institute

Registration is now open for the 2023 Billie J. Askew Reading Recovery & K-6 Literacy Institute to take place Nov. 6-7. The deadline to register is noon on Friday, Nov. 3.

This year's event will be at the Hurst Conference Center in Hurst, Texas and features award winning author Derrick Barnes and Nerdy Book Club co-founder and fifth-grade teacher Colby Sharp

Additional featured speakers include:

• Adria Klein, PhD, director and trainer at the Reading Recovery Center at Saint Mary’s College of California
• K. Journey Swafford, PhD, the Pathways to Literacy Initiatives Associate Project Director and Reading Recovery Executive Director
• Connie Briggs, PhD, a Reading Recovery Trainer and Professor Emeritus from Texas Woman's University

• Monday, Nov. 6 - 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. CST
• Tuesday, Nov. 7 - 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. CST

Registration Fees

• Institute Registrant: $285 per person - Two days of the Institute.  
• Student Registrant: $100 per person - Two days of the Institute.  (Email letter from a professor on university letterhead confirming full-time status to ddrago@dmsevents.com.)
