Gaps in care and the role of the caregiver in the wheelchair procurement process in individuals with an acquired brain injury
This project follows acquired brain injury survivors after discharge from inpatient rehabilitation to examine the wheelchair procurement process. There are two goals for this project. 1) Compare wheelchair (W/C) outcomes (satisfaction, fit, cost burden, time to delivery, community participation) for individuals with and without an identified caregiver/advocate. 2) Explore the trends and gaps in care during the wheelchair prescription and fit process for individuals with acquired brain injury.
