Jan. 14, 2022 — DENTON — Texas Woman’s University has been recognized for its diversity, equity and inclusion activities by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber will officially present its 2021 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award to the university at the organization’s annual luncheon on Feb. 16 in Houston. TWU was one of two entities selected for the award.

Over the last two years, Texas Woman’s has expanded its DEI efforts by establishing a faculty and staff council focused on nurturing a diverse and inclusive campus culture, and has facilitated the establishment of several affinity groups to better represent groups from different backgrounds.

Additionally, the university increased the number of professional development opportunities available for faculty on topics related to inclusive curriculum design.
