Profile

Mariah Ferguson is the staff Music Recruiter at Texas Woman’s University. She is a two-time alumna of the TWU Division of Music.

During her undergraduate degree, Mariah was selected to represent TWU as a TCDA Student Conductor. On campus, she served as Concert Choir President and Soprano II section leader, and Chamber Singers’ Alto section leader. She also served as Sigma Alpha Iota’s Vice President of Membership and Sergeant at Arms, and the Pioneer Music Educators Association as the social chair. She was also afforded the opportunity to sing at the May 2016 commencement ceremonies. She studied voice with Dr. Joni Jensen. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Choral Music Education in 2016, Mariah taught middle school choir for three years.

In 2022, she graduated from TWU with a Master of Arts in Vocal Pedagogy. While studying vocal pedagogy, she served as a graduate assistant to Dr. Joni Jensen. She worked directly with the TWU Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, as well as the undergraduate choral conducting and diction courses. She also conducted the TWU University Chorus and taught a virtual ensemble seminar course. During her master’s degree, Mariah continued her voice study with Dr. Joni Jensen, and with her support, sang a graduate voice recital comprised entirely of female composers.

In addition to her duties at Texas Woman’s University, Mariah is a scholarship singer at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, in Denton. She currently sings with the Fort Worth Chorale, and the Millennial Choirs and Orchestras, where she serves as Soprano II section leader.

Mariah is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, Sigma Alpha Iota, and the Texas Music Educators Association.
